ALAN G. SALZ, M.D. received his B.A. and M.D. degrees with highest honors at Boston University's combined six-year undergraduate and medical school program. He interned at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia and completed his ophthalmology residency at the prestigious Wills Eye Hospital, ranked the # 1 training program in the United States by Doximity for multiple years. He has been selected as a Top Doc in NJ Monthly Magazine multiple times including this past year and has been a Castle Connolly Top Metro NY Area Doc 15 years in a row.

Dr. Salz has a longstanding interest in refractive surgery (procedures to improve vision without optical aids like glasses or contact lenses). After FDA approval of the excimer laser to correct nearsightedness in 1995, Dr. Salz was the first ophthalmologist to perform laser vision correction in central New Jersey. He has been performing LASIK since 1998. In 2005, Dr. Salz was the first ophthalmologist in central New Jersey to become certified to perform Intralase All-Laser (bladeless) LASIK. He has corrected the vision of many local physicians and their families, members of his staff and his own family and has had his own vision corrected by laser.

Offering state-of-the-art services since he went into private practice, Dr. Salz has also been on the forefront of modern cataract surgery. He offers the full spectrum of intraocular lens implant choices including monofocal, multifocal, astigmatism correcting (Toric) and the Symfony lens for an extended range of focus. Dr. Salz will take the time at your office cataract consult to discuss with you what lens implant options would be available to you. Beyond surgical skill, Dr. Salz provides his patients a thorough evaluation prior to any procedure and caring personalized attention throughout their experience. Over his career, he has participated in missions to perform cataract surgery in third world countries and has been an invited expert speaker at medical meetings.

Dr. Salz is a board certified ophthalmologist. He is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.

DAVID A. SALZ, MD joined the practice in 2015. Dr. Salz specializes in medical treatments of the retina including diabetes and macular degeneration, LASIK, and cataract surgery with specialty lenses such as the multifocal, astigmatism correcting (Toric) and the extended range of focus Symfony.

He attended Boston University’s combined seven year undergraduate and medical school program, where he graduated summa cum laude at the top of his class. He completed a transitional intern year at Crozer Chester Medical Center in Pennsylvania. He then pursued his ophthalmology residency in Philadelphia, PA at the prestigious Wills Eye Hospital, ranked the #1 residency program in the United States by Doximity for multiple years. He completed a medical retina fellowship at Tufts Medical Center, where he trained under world leaders in the field.

Dr. Salz is a board certified ophthalmologist and a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. He has published numerous articles in various peer-reviewed journals, authored several book chapters, and presented his work at numerous national and international ophthalmology conferences. He has been involved in a number of clinical trials as an investigator. Dr. Salz also has an interest in international medical missions, most recently having worked in Kenya, Ghana, and Peru.

CAROLINE R. MOSHEL, MD joined The Eye Specialists in 2017. She is a board-certified, fellowship-trained ophthalmologist who specializes in comprehensive, medical ophthalmology.

Originally from North Carolina, Dr. Moshel completed her undergraduate degree at Duke University where she graduated with cum laude honors. She then received her medical degree at New York University School of Medicine. After she completed her internship at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Manhattan, she returned to New York University and Manhattan Eye, Ear, and Throat Hospital for her ophthalmology residency where she served as Chief Resident during her final year. She then completed further specialized fellowship training at Wills Eye Hospital. She has published numerous research articles and given presentations at national ophthalmology conferences.

In addition to comprehensive ophthalmology, Dr. Moshel’s interests include the management of cataracts, glaucoma, dry eyes, as well as cosmetic and medical use of Botox.

LARRY D. WEISFELD, M.D., originally from New York City, completed his undergraduate degree at Queens College of CCNY where he graduated cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. He received his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin and completed an internal medicine internship at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn,NY. He then went to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, NY, where he did his ophthalmology training and served as chief resident during his final year.

After moving to New Jersey, he practiced comprehensive ophthalmology with the Wachtel and Weisfeld Ophthalmology group in Somerset County and with Kurz Eye Associates in Hunterdon County. In 2000, he founded Ophthalmic Consultants of Somerset, Eye MDs and has provided ophthalmic care for patients in both their Bound Brook and Hillsborough locations since that time. In 2018, Dr. Weisfeld joined The Eye Specialists and now sees patients in our Bridgewater and Hillsborough locations.

Dr. Weisfeld has extensive experience in all phases of ophthalmology. He prides himself in being an excellent diagnostician in all aspects of ophthalmology and does not hesitate to seek out the help of sub-specialists in the management of extremely complex problems. His main objective in practice is to help his patients preserve and improve their eyesight, improve the quality of their eye health, and do so in a caring and compassionate manner.

JOSEPH M. KASPARECK, JR., M.D., originally from Fanwood, NJ, completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Vermont. He received his medical degree from Rutgers Medical School and then went to Temple University where he did his ophthalmology residency and served as chief resident during his final year. Upon graduation, he began his long tenure practicing comprehensive ophthalmology with the Central Jersey Eye Associates. In 2021, Dr. Kaspareck joined The Eye Specialists and now sees patients in our Bridgewater and Hillsborough locations.

Dr. Kaspareck is a board-certified ophthalmologist who is highly respected within the community and among his peers. He has extensive experience in all phases of ophthalmology.

CARA W.SNYDER, M.D. joined the eye specialists in 2022. She is a board-certified, fellowship trained ophthalmologist who specializes in ophthalmic plastic surgery and general ophthalmology.

She attended Brown University where she graduated with honors with a B.S. in chemistry and was inducted into Sigma Xi the scientific honor society. Dr. Snyder then earned her M.D. from Albert Einstein College of Medicine and went on to an internship in internal medicine at St. Vincent's Catholic Medical Center. Returning to Brown University she completed her ophthalmology residency at the Warren Alpert College of Medicine. She went on to complete a fellowship in ophthalmic plastic surgery at the University of South Florida under leading ophthalmic plastic surgeons.

After practicing ophthalmic plastic surgery and general ophthalmology in Palm Beach County, Florida for 10 years Dr. Snyder relocated to her home town of Princeton, NJ and is thrilled to be practicing close to family.

EFFY A. OJUOK, M.D. joined the practice in 2022. Dr. Ojuok specializes in the medical treatment of diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, and retinal vein occlusions. Dr. Ojuok performs laser treatments for retinal holes and tears. She also performs comprehensive eye examinations.

Originally from New Jersey, Dr. Ojuok enrolled in the NJ Stars scholarship program at Mercer County Community College where she obtained an AS degree with outstanding achievement in Biology. She then obtained a BS in Bioscience with honors from Rutgers New Jersey. Dr. Ojuok received her medical education at SUNY Downstate Medical center and then completed her internship at Northwell Health. She returned to NJ to complete her residency in ophthalmology and then obtained fellowship training in Medical Retina at Duke University.

Dr. Ojuok is a board-certified ophthalmologist and a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and American Society of Retina Specialists. She has published numerous research articles and given presentations at national ophthalmology conferences.
