ALAN G. SALZ, M.D. received his B.A. and M.D. degrees with highest honors at Boston University's combined six-year undergraduate and medical school program. He interned at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia and completed his ophthalmology residency at the prestigious Wills Eye Hospital, ranked the # 1 training program in the United States by Doximity for multiple years. He has been selected as a Top Doc in NJ Monthly Magazine multiple times including this past year and has been a Castle Connolly Top Metro NY Area Doc 15 years in a row.
Dr. Salz has a longstanding interest in refractive surgery (procedures to improve vision without optical aids like glasses or contact lenses). After FDA approval of the excimer laser to correct nearsightedness in 1995, Dr. Salz was the first ophthalmologist to perform laser vision correction in central New Jersey. He has been performing LASIK since 1998. In 2005, Dr. Salz was the first ophthalmologist in central New Jersey to become certified to perform Intralase All-Laser (bladeless) LASIK. He has corrected the vision of many local physicians and their families, members of his staff and his own family and has had his own vision corrected by laser.
Offering state-of-the-art services since he went into private practice, Dr. Salz has also been on the forefront of modern cataract surgery. He offers the full spectrum of intraocular lens implant choices including monofocal, multifocal, astigmatism correcting (Toric) and the Symfony lens for an extended range of focus. Dr. Salz will take the time at your office cataract consult to discuss with you what lens implant options would be available to you. Beyond surgical skill, Dr. Salz provides his patients a thorough evaluation prior to any procedure and caring personalized attention throughout their experience. Over his career, he has participated in missions to perform cataract surgery in third world countries and has been an invited expert speaker at medical meetings.
Dr. Salz is a board certified ophthalmologist. He is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.

He attended Boston University’s combined seven year undergraduate and medical school program, where he graduated summa cum laude at the top of his class. He completed a transitional intern year at Crozer Chester Medical Center in Pennsylvania. He then pursued his ophthalmology residency in Philadelphia, PA at the prestigious Wills Eye Hospital, ranked the #1 residency program in the United States by Doximity for multiple years. He completed a medical retina fellowship at Tufts Medical Center, where he trained under world leaders in the field.
Dr. Salz is a board certified ophthalmologist and a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. He has published numerous articles in various peer-reviewed journals, authored several book chapters, and presented his work at numerous national and international ophthalmology conferences. He has been involved in a number of clinical trials as an investigator. Dr. Salz also has an interest in international medical missions, most recently having worked in Kenya, Ghana, and Peru.

LARRY D. WEISFELD, M.D., originally from New York City, completed his undergraduate degree at Queens College of CCNY where he graduated cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. He received his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin and completed an internal medicine internship at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn,NY. He then went to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, NY, where he did his ophthalmology training and served as chief resident during his final year.
After moving to New Jersey, he practiced comprehensive ophthalmology with the Wachtel and Weisfeld Ophthalmology group in Somerset County and with Kurz Eye Associates in Hunterdon County. In 2000, he founded Ophthalmic Consultants of Somerset, Eye MDs and has provided ophthalmic care for patients in both their Bound Brook and Hillsborough locations since that time. In 2018, Dr. Weisfeld joined The Eye Specialists and now sees patients in our Bridgewater and Hillsborough locations.
Dr. Weisfeld has extensive experience in all phases of ophthalmology. He prides himself in being an excellent diagnostician in all aspects of ophthalmology and does not hesitate to seek out the help of sub-specialists in the management of extremely complex problems. His main objective in practice is to help his patients preserve and improve their eyesight, improve the quality of their eye health, and do so in a caring and compassionate manner.

She attended Brown University where she graduated with honors with a B.S. in chemistry and was inducted into Sigma Xi the scientific honor society. Dr. Snyder then earned her M.D. from Albert Einstein College of Medicine and went on to an internship in internal medicine at St. Vincent's Catholic Medical Center. Returning to Brown University she completed her ophthalmology residency at the Warren Alpert College of Medicine. She went on to complete a fellowship in ophthalmic plastic surgery at the University of South Florida under leading ophthalmic plastic surgeons.

Sarita Dave, MD is a board-certified ophthalmologist with subspecialty training in neuro-ophthalmology. She completed her neuro-ophthalmology fellowship at the Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins Hospital after an ophthalmology residency at Vanderbilt University and a transitional year at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center. Dr. Dave earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine and graduated with high distinction from the University of Iowa, where she completed a dual bachelor’s degree.
Dr. Dave has held academic and clinical appointments at leading institutions, including the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai, where she served as Director of the Comprehensive Eye Clinic and Assistant Clinical Professor at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Her clinical practice focuses on neuro-ophthalmology and comprehensive ophthalmology, with extensive experience in teaching and mentoring resident physicians.
An active contributor to the field, Dr. Dave has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and national presentations, with a particular focus on optic nerve disease, papilledema, and ocular imaging. She has served on national committees for the American Board of Ophthalmology and the North American Neuro-Ophthalmology Society and has received multiple awards for excellence in teaching and research.
